LPA Team Conduct and Values:
- The LPA Team will function with fairness, honesty,
equality, Christian
love, respect, and concern for each other
- The relationship between the Team and the Parishes
will be open, equal, and accessible. The Team is a typical body of the Parishes and its members will remain immersed in the
life of the Parishes
- The Team see the relationship between all members
as one of collaboration, trust, partnership, and communication, characterised by courtesy and openness. It recognises the
priests’ special role of ordained ministry, as well as the full role of baptised lay in the reign of God
- Team decisions will be made by consensus, through
cooperation, teamwork, prayer, and understanding. On matters of structural or fundamental operating change, consultation will
be carried out with appropriate persons/ groups, with member parishes, and externally when required, and may include any areas
of our Mission Statement (to be determined)
- Although Team members may at times express some
differences of opinion at the LPA meetings, the team will at all times, in relationship with the parishes, present a ‘team
view’. i.e. that view(s) which has been arrived at via consensus at team meetings
- ‘Confidentiality’ will include all
references to parishioners, LPA team members, and any other persons consulting or communicating with the team in any way.
Such references should remain within the Team unless the Team decides that it fundamentally effects the furtherance of the
mission of the LPA
- We expect each other to offer as much commitment
as individual circumstances allow. We recognise that we all have other commitments that may, at times, take priority and in
a spirit of openness will welcome what each is able to give
- We acknowledge responsibility to God, our Bishop,
our Priests, the faith community of each parish, of the LPA as an entity, and to ourselves
- We will ensure that the work of the Team is rooted
in prayer, by opening and closing all meetings with prayer, and look to the scriptures and private prayer for guidance and
discernment.
- We accept that we will make mistakes and when things
do go wrong reflect on what has happened and seek to discern ‘why’. We will re-read our Mission
statement and re-evaluate events in its light. We will communicate with each other, and with the parishes, as a fundamental
part of what we do. We will not get disheartened and not apportion blame
